Frequently Asked Questions

What is your veterinary background?
I have been a veterinarian for over ten years. I began my career at the Seattle Humane Society. Over the years I have worked for Lien Animal Clinic in West Seattle, Allpet Veterinary Clinic in Shoreline and a non-profit called the Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project. Six years ago I began training in veterinary acupuncture with Dr. Richard Panzer at the American Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Today I have a small practice in West Seattle where I practice exclusively acupuncture and herbal medicine. For more information on my practice you can visit www.lenamccullough.com.

Can I bring my animal to see you?
I have a very busy practice in West Seattle and am sometimes not able to take new animal patients, please call me to find out if I am accepting new clients. I have provided contacts for other veterinary acupuncturists in the Seattle area in my links page. If you are out of the Seattle area I recommend getting a referral from your primary veterinarian or contacting IVAS listed on the links page. I do not do phone consultations.

Can I email you with veterinary questions?
I can not legally answer medical questions without a client/patient relationship. Please do email me at lena (at) pathwithpaws (dot) com with suggestions for this website or with topics which would be helpful to you. I may not be able to return all emails but I will read them all. You can also post questions on the forums for help with medical issues. I often will respond to questions in the forums.

Why did my comment not appear on the website?
If you haven’t commented before I will need to verify that you are not a bot or spammer. After one comment is approved your comments should appear instantly.

Why do you have ads on your website?
I am hoping that through the ads this website will be able to support itself. I also hope to continue to improve the website over time and add new features.

Where do you get your photographs for this website?
The photographs I use come from my clients, my friend Jennifer Kogut who is a professional photographer in the Seattle area, my own camera, and flickr through creative commons licensing. Any photos not from my own camera or from clients can be clicked on to find the photographer.

I have a really great animal story I want to share, how do I do this?
You can always share these stories on the forums. If you want me to use your story in one of the main articles please email me. I also enjoy receiving photos. You can send me a photo in Jpeg format or even better, if you have a flickr account send me a link to the photo. If I use your photo I will link back to your flickr account.
