My husband and I were sitting on the couch and my pit mix Maddy was nudging at the front door and whining. (she had just come in from the back door). I asked her if she needed to go potty she starting wagging her tail. I opened the front door and there was a trap with a kitten in it. Backstory. I TNR feral cats. Someone had trapped it I told them to bring it over,I just assumed they had put in the facility(garage). Didn't see it in there. Thought they would keep it for the night. Well they put it on the front porch. Had it not been for my Maddy the kitten would have been in serious danger.

Wow, with the cold temperatures last night it would have been devastating to not find the kitten until the morning. Way to go Maddy!

One of the feral(spayed) cats I feed pulled the paper plate with the food about half a foot into an area where she would not get wet. The food was under the eaves, but to eat it she would have gotten wet.

When I worked at the humane society we received a litter of day old kittens in that someone had found. We had no foster homes available to take them but a feral cat with two kittens had come in and we had kept her so she could nurse the kittens until they were old enough to leave her. We gave the day old kittens to her and she accepted them immediately which is quite unusual even for a tame cat. She raised those kittens and her own and when they were old enough to go to foster without her we took them away and were ready to euthanize her because we could not place her as she was not tame. That same day another very young litter came in and once again she was the only option. We once again gave her that litter and she raised those kittens without complaint. After they were weaned we sent her to a sanctuary where she could live out her life. In saving the three litters of kittens she had also saved her own life.

My six feral cats are able to climb a ladder to our roof that has solar panels on it. They make their home under the panels. It's amazing to see the cats go up and down the ladder

I have a story for the cats the spray: I TNR cats. My friend who also TNR's but in the Tacoma area. There was a site managed by some 80 yr old women. Well they were told the cats HAD to go. Well I got one of the cats. His name is Hank. He is sweet to a bit. He has his moments of turning around and swatting you. OH did I mention he will actually attack my dogs YES HE does. If Hank is on the back porch the dogs will NOT go out the door.
Well he also a SPRAYER. SO he stays outside. HE has a bed outside that he sleeps in. We put a heating pad out there too, but didn't like it. He wanted in SO bad, but what to do. Well we brought in a large dog carrier to be able to put a litter box, food, and water in it. He has NEVER been happier. We let him out when home. We will put him out for the day,but he always wants back in. Funny when he is loose in the house, we can tell he wants to spray, well we say Hank go to your carrier and HE DOES. So he is trained in the carrier. He is so happy he actually rolls on his back he is about 20 lbs of cross-eyed siamese. So it can be done with cats that spray, you just need to want to do it.

I left a cat feeder out for a day-upside down. The next day, a mocking bird had punched a big gigantic hole into the transparent plastic to get at the food.
